Well, I said I'd put in some stuff about my gerbils, so here it is!
This is Jenny, a spotted lilac (see Colors and genetics page) (though she's lightened a great deal with age). She's around 4 years (so quite old!), and lives in a split cage with Agger. Jenny came to me with her two sisters. My cousins got a cat, so the gerbils had to go. Jenny isn't really comfortable with being held, but, boy does she love her treats :P
Now, Agamemnon, a spotted black gerbil. He's around 2 1/2 yrs, and lost his brother Percy back in November. He and Percy came from a little pet shop. Ag is currently in a perm split cage with Jen. He loves to tear paper.
This is Artemis, an ee(f) nutmeg. She is 1 1/2. I got her from Moonstone Gerbils with her friend Athena. Artie's very calm in my hand, and loves pumpkin seeds.
Aaannnndddd.... Athena, an Burmese (colorpoint black). She's 1 1/2. I got her from Moonstone Gerbils with her friend Artemis. Athena is more frisky than Artie, and loves to go out for a run. Athena is also a show gerbil, she won Best In Show in the AGS 2011 NE show Pet Class (see Gerbil Shows page), and 3rd place colorpoint at the MD show.
Hera next, a shelter gerbil from the SPCA, she is approx. 1yr. A sweet dove gerbil, though rather skittish.
Hestia, sister of Demeter and Hera, and lover of treats. About 1yr, this little gerbil is very friendly and is a favorite of several of my friends (the friends who don't think I'm totally crazy, just...slightly crazy).
Persephone is my pretty polar fox girl. A climber with no fear of heights, this girl can really scare me. She is 6 months old. Perseph currently lives alone, though when Aphrodite gets out of quarintine there will be a split for them.
Well, you know at the bottom how I said I wouldn't be getting any more gerbils? Well, that didn't happen. This is my last gerbil for now, though, I promise you. So...Aphrodite!
That's my gerbils!
Due to collage plans, I will not be getting anymore gerbils until I've finished vet school. I still have a few years till I'm in college though.
